The Smithy
Near Scarborough, North Yorkshire
The Smithy is an old blacksmith’s workshop which has been lovingly refurbished into a cosy two-bedroom traditional stone cottage, located across a country lane from our Manor House Farm and Cottage.
Set in the heart of the North York Moors National Park and surrounded by scenic countryside in the beautiful valley of Troutsdale, and only a short drive from nearby towns and villages. Practically no light pollution means amazing dark skies for all you stargazers too.
Beautifully furnished, this cosy self-catering cottage has one double bedroom, and one single bedroom, sleeping three guests.
Please note:
Gardens/Outside areas not necessarily dog proof, even if fenced/walled, so dogs must be kept under control at all times, especially near farm animals.

"We had an amazing week away from everything in Troutsdale. The cottage is situated in the bottom of a beautiful valley. We visited during autumn and the colours were amazing. The cottage is much larger than the pictures show. We had everything we needed, including a great kitchen for cooking meals. The living area is really cosy and great for watching TV or reading. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was really warm, boosted by the under floor heating. We had a couple of messages with Christina who responded quickly. All in all it was a great week and I would highly recommend staying here."

"Wonderful location in a beautiful and quiet valley. Perfect as a base for walks in the North York Moors National Park. It's wonderful to sit on the patio on a sunny day and listen to the birds singing. Very clean and the linen and towels had also been washed at a temperature of at least 60C, which meant they were properly clean and fresh. Nice to have mini guest soaps to use. "We loved the Smithy. Luxurious high thread count bedding and very comfy bed. Lovely well equipped kitchen and nice furnishings. Best of all peace and quiet. Nice view from patio with good walks. Great wildlife and lots of sheep. 40 minutes from Whitby (I have never seen so many fish and chip shops!), with Sandsend nice beach an extra 10 mins further for a less commercialised experience. Scarborough 30 minute drive. The place to shop and very commercialised but nearby Cayton bay a lovely beach and well worth a day spent. Stunning coastal views everywhere we drove. the Smithy makes a great retreat or a good base for a holiday."

"The cottage and scenery are beautiful. The cottage had everything we needed. We were only 30 mins away from areas of interest such as Scarborough, Whitby and Dalby Forrest. Cottage was very homely and modern but with a cottage appeal. Plenty of space for 2-3 adults and dog friendly which was a big bonus."
