Granary Cottage

Near Scarborough, North Yorkshire

Granary Cottage is situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, seven miles west of Scarborough and the East Coast, and convenient for Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, Pickering, and York.
This lovely self-catering cottage is a beautifully renovated 18th Century barn nestled in a superb position overlooking the stunning Troutsdale countryside. The cottage has three bedrooms: one super-king (downstairs), one king (upstairs) and one twin (upstairs), each with en-suite bathrooms, sleeping six guests in comfortable luxury.

Granary Cottage is situated on a busy, working farm. As such, guests should expect the typical sights, sounds, and smells associated with farm life, including working farm dogs. For your safety, we kindly ask that you take extra care when outdoors and do not enter any farm buildings or go near farm machinery at any time.

Pheasant shoots also take place from October to January, so the farmyard is busy when the guns meet in the morning, and again at lunchtime.

Please note:

Gardens/Outside areas not necessarily dog proof, even if fenced/walled, so dogs must be kept under control at all times, especially near farm animals.

"Beautiful setting, so quiet and peaceful we had a wonderful stay in this well appointed converted Granary. We loved the space, having two living rooms was a luxury. Kitchen has everything you need. Luxurious linen comfy beds. Wonderful family holiday exploring York, Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay fossil hunting, Whitby Abbey. Lots of activities for the kids walks in the forest, Go Ape and MTB in Dalby Forest which is a 10 min drive. North Yorkshire Water Park was a hit with Warrior Inflatable adventure course and Paddleboarding. Great location. Thank you. We had an amazing holiday."

We witnessed the neighbours, returning from their traditional pheasant hunt, very special to see. We took the steam train from Pickering to Whitby, visited the York castle museum, and saw the waves hit the boulevard in Scarborough. In addition, we occasionally enjoyed a drink or lunch at a local pub. In short, a recommendation and within an hour drive there is a lot to discover, Also the communication with Christina prior to the trip was perfect."
